Lenten Lunches – join us on Tuesday!
Our Lenten Lunches will be Tuesday, February 27. Lunch will be available between 11:30am and 1:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Pastor Tim will lead a lesson at 12:15pm. The next saint we will learn about is St. Elizabeth of Portugal. Join us for interesting conversation and a great meal provided by the Deacons. The Lenten Lunches are open to everyone. Invite you family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.
Each week we will be featuring one part of our new website. This week’s feature is the calendar. You can access the calendar by either clicking on “calendar” on the top menu bar or by scrolling to the bottom of the home page.
If you click on “calendar” on the top menu bar you will be taken to the current week calendar. To see the calendar for the entire month, just click on “monthly view” above the weekly calendar.
If you scroll to the bottom of the home page you will see the current week calendar. Right about that are arrows to see next week’s calendar or the previous week’s calendar. We are working hard to keep this up to date. If you see something that needs that needs to be changed please let us know.
Weekly Lent Devotion – packets are available in the Narthex
Week 1 – Key Lesson: Priorities in Prayer
Activity 1: Say the Lord’s Prayer together
Activity 2: Have everyone make a list of or draw the most special thing in their life.
Read: Psalm 71:9-14
Have someone read the following and then answer the questions, either together or individually.
The Lord’s prayer sets up our priorities. First, God, who created us, is always first. “Holy” means “special” or “set apart.
Answer these questions:
- How do you honor something? (or how/why do you set things apart…trophies, special items in your room or house, etc.?)
- How is God special?
- How do make God special in your life?
- What can you do in your family to make God special this Lent? How will you honor him? Suggestions: Go to special Church services, do something special for someone, volunteer somewhere, visit a shut-in etc.
ATTENTION: A permanent year-round location has been made for items going to the PW Rummage Sale each spring. Please take your good, clean items to the stage in Fellowship Hall and place them behind the curtain. Now you won’t have to wait until a month before the rummage sale to get those unwanted things out of your house! We hope this will be a more convenient and effective method. We greatly appreciate your donations. Please no computers or TVs.
